About Union Mart

At Union Mart, we are not just volunteers but more than that. We are your friends who wants to provide you the best experience

What is Union mart?

Your free grocery store at the University of Melbourne, providing essential groceries and household items to the students!

How does it work?

Students have 40 points for free to spend on any item in Union Mart. These points renew every Monday. You can come in only once a week because we have a capacity of 1,000 students per week, 200 per day and 100 per session because we now run 2 sessions a day – Morning (10:00am to 11:00am) and Evening (4:00pm – 5:00pm). Therefore, we encourage you to spend all your points when you visit Union Mart.

Mission

Union Mart is committed to ensuring that all students at the University of Melbourne have access to essential food and household items, fostering a culture of mutual respect and solidarity and ensuring that no student has to choose between their well-being and financial constraints.

Vision

We envision a campus where no student goes without basic necessities due to financial hardship. As inflation and economic pressures grow, Union Mart will continue to expand and adapt to meet the needs of our diverse community, providing culturally inclusive and accessible essentials for all. Through collective responsibility and community-driven support, we aim to create a sustainable, equitable, and compassionate environment where every student can thrive.
